 Olav Toornend has been president of the International Association of Orthopaedic Footwear Technicians (IVO) since October 2021. We asked him about his expectations regarding the IVO Congress in Cologne on October 14-15, 2022.

The Pedorthic Association of Canada (PAC) is hosting its 2020 Symposium in Halifax, NS at the Halifax Convention Centre. More than 250 Pedorthists, Podiatrists, Chiropodist, Orthotists and others concerned with the neurobiology of pedorthics are expected to attend North America’s largest Pedorthic event, which will be held April 23 – 25.

The Pedorthic Association of Australia (PAC) and the Pedorthic Association of Canada (PAA) have postponed their 2020 conferences until next year.

After the success of Clermont-Ferrand in December 2021, the FFPO (La Fédération Française des Podo-Orthésistes) will be holding its conference on March 14/15,2024 in the Grand Palais in Lille. The main themes will be cerebral palsy and CMT equipment.

The French Association of Pedorthists (FFPO) will hold their “Journées de l’Appareillage du Pied" (Foot Fitting Days), originally scheduled for May, inDecember 9 and 10, 2021 in Clermont-Ferrand.

The city of Cologne in Germany will be the venue of the next IVO Congress on 22/23 October 2021. Main topics will be the diabetic foot and the biomechanics of the foot.

On October 14 and 15, 2022, the city of Cologne in Germany will be the place to present and discuss new results from science and from the daily practice of pedorthics. All scientists and professionals involved in the therapy of foot problems are cordially invited to contribute to the congress.For the first time, the trade fair and congress ORTHOPÄDIE SCHUH TECHNIK will be held together with the congress of the International Association of Pedorthists (IVO).

On October 24 and 25, the Swiss Association for Prosthetics and Orthotics and the Swiss Foot and Shoe Association will host the congress of the International Pedorthic Association. The congress at the Forum Fribourg will also celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Swiss Foot and Shoe Association.

For the IVO Congress 2022 on October 14-15 in Cologne, the two journals "foot&shoe" and "Orthopädieschuhtechnik" together with the International Pedorthic Association (IVO) are launching a project with which they want to make pedorthists around the world more visible and bringing them together.

Due to the actual international COVID 19–situation and the current hygienic restrictions, CONNECT 2021 will be held as an Online-Congress. After two successful congresses at the University of Ulm, the third CONNECT congress will be hosted by the Technical University of Munich (TUM) on  March 26-27, 2021.

2022 will be a special trade fair year for pedorthics: The whole industry waits in the wings to finally meet again in person on 14 and 15 October 2022, after the postponement the year before. After 22 years, the IVO World Congress will take place in Germany again. A highlight that will beckon many international visitors to Cologne.

On October 20 and 21, 2021, Cologne, Germany, will once again be the place where the worldwide community of Pedorthists will meet. The congress with numerous lectures and seminars as well as the trade fair with more than 130 exhibitors will once again offer the ideal opportunity to meet colleagues and learn about the latest professional and technological developments.

ORTHOPÄDIE SCHUH TECHNIK - International Trade Fair and Congress and the associated Congress of the International Pedorthic Association  (IVO) will be postponed by one year to October 14 and 15, 2022. The originally planned date was October 22 and 23, 2021.

The IVO Congress 2022 on October 14-15, 2022 in Cologne will also have many features in store for international visitors. In addition to the multilingual congress program, several seminars will also be offered in English.

OT-World 2022 (10-13 May 2022) is dedicating a special show to the supply of foot orthotics. The exhibition will show the complexity of optimal orthotic care at five stations. Guided tours of the show will be offered several times a day.

According to the status of 10 March 2020, Messe Leipzig reports that OTWorld will take place on schedule from 12 to 15 May 2020.

After the purely digital OTWorld.connect 2020, the world's leading trade fair and congress will return to Leipzig as a presence event with supplementary digital offerings from May 10 to 13, 2022.

Practical, international and interdisciplinary: From 14 to 17 May, the world congress at OTWorld will be setting the scene for global knowledge transfer in the prosthetics and orthotics industry. The congress programme will offer a wide range of further education opportunities for all professional groups working at the interface between people and technology.

The Pedorthic Association of Australia (PAA) invites its members, the wider foot related network and allied health colleagues to the first face-to-face PAA conference since their pre-pandemic event in 2019.

The PAC Symposium scheduled for April 23 – 25, 2020 in Halifax has been cancelled and will not be rescheduled for this year.
