Now also available in English: Results brochure on the effectiveness, use, and quality of assistive devices
The survey, conducted by the Allensbach Institute for Public Opinion Research, impressively demonstrates that patients trust medically prescribed bandages, orthoses and orthopaedic insoles, as well as medical compression stockings, as indispensable therapeutic measures for orthopaedic complaints and venous disorders. These are among the most common conditions, not only in Germany. This is why the results brochure, 'Medical Devices – Effective and Established Therapy for a Better Quality of Life in Everyday Life', is now available in English to reach an international audience.
From the patient's perspective, assistive devices reduce pain, often eliminate the need for medication and can avoid or at least delay surgery. They gain mobility and experience a significant improvement in their overall quality of life. The success of the therapy is closely linked to high adherence to treatment. Patients wear their assistive devices consistently. These are the key findings of a representative survey conducted by the Allensbach Institute for Public Opinion Research (IfD) on behalf of EuroCom. Around 1,300 women and men aged 16 and over in Germany who wear medically prescribed bandages, orthoses, orthopaedic insoles and medical compression stockings were surveyed in January and February 2023. The survey provides comprehensive insights into the use, effectiveness and quality of medical aids. This was the third time the survey had been conducted since 2014, and it documents an increase in confidence among the estimated 25 million users compared to previous years.
The brochure with the most important results of the study can be downloaded from the eurocom website.
