The authors

For over 40 years, Prof. René Baumgartner, M.D. has been involved in the close integration of medicine and handicraft within the field of technical orthopedics. With more than 300 publications, he has played a crucial role in convincing orthopedic specialists and surgeons to consider and utilize the treatment options made available by technical orthopedics in their work.

Michael Möller is a Master pedorthist and holds a degree in professional foot care. Since taking over the family business in 1995, he works closely with the Department of Technical Orthopedics and Rehabilitation at the University of Münster in Germany. He is also a lecturer of pedorthics in the Technical Orthopedics degree program at the University of Applied Science in Münster, among other institutions.

Before his medical studies and training to become an orthopedic specialist, Dr. Hartmut Stinus trained as a pedorthist. As a resident doctor and operationally active orthopedic surgeon, he is familiar with the entire gamut of conservative and surgical foot therapies.
